About Brittney Alexander
I started riding horses in 1999, when the horse bug bit me as a 10 year old. I begged my parents for a pony or small horse of my own, but unfortunately that never happened. Fast forward to 2006. Like a lot of horse crazy girls, I could not afford a horse of my own (and still can't) and looked for a way to get my riding fix. Leasing was not an option for me because I could not afford that either. In October 2006, I was hired by one of my high school teachers to start exercising her Pony of Americas. Since then, I've graduated from the POA to the family's weekend police horse. Then it hit me. There must be others out there with horses who don't have time to ride and get their beloved Equine buddies out as much as they would like! In 2008, I began marketing myself as an exercise rider, riding horses for owners that do not have the time to ride their horse(s) themselves. In August 2011, Alexander Equine Services was born.
I have worked with different breeds of horses, from Pony of Americas to Thoroughbreds, National Show Horses to Team Penning horses. I have ridden horses as young as 5 to as old as 23 (and she's still going). I can also help out with minor training issues. See my services page for more detail. I can ride the arena and ride the trails, and I am available for horses from Lakeside to Rancho Santa Fe.
I currently have plenty of openings to take on more horses so feel free to contact me if you are interested in getting your horse out more often!
I am now offering individual lessons for the beginning rider at Hidden Haven Farms in Jamul. Please contact me to set up lessons. See the lessons page for more info!
